Prop:Bronze Head of Ife in Nigeria

For this project I textured and rendered a head which was created from scan data. In 1938 ,18 copper alloy heads were unearthed in Ife, Nigeria. This location in Nigeria was the religious stronghold of the Yoruba people. The sculptures were dated to 1300 A.D and their discovery challenged the European view of African art as primitive and rudimentary. These sculptures were created with such sophistication and realism that paralleled European artwork produced by the classical Greeks and Romans. The final renders were produced within Marmoset and Photoshop
